In Ls1, we had to do something called Ink Art. We worked with Mr Johnston, and he explained how we were going to work with the Ink. We had to grab a piece of cardboard and a picture of ourselves for sketching. We used the picture to draw ourselves on the piece of cardboard. Once we were finished drawing ourselves on the piece of cardboard we would then use a hot glue gun and put it into the parts where we drew ourselves. Once the glue had dried, we would go to the other side with Mr Johnston so we could do the Inking part. We rolled the Ink onto the piece of cardboard and printed the cardboard on a piece of paper. Here is my cardboard I worked very hard on.

Honey bee life cycle
For writing, Ls1 had to pair up with a partner to work together and do an explanation writing about the honey bee life cycle. Me and my partner Azalea worked on different things to get our explanation writing finished. Azalea mostly worked on decorating our explanation writting, and I worked on the paragraphs. I explained how the egg forms into an pupa and how it covers itself in silk while developing into a adult until it hatches.

Identifying a quality blog comment
Today in LS1, for Cybersmart today was identifying a blog comment. What we did was look at a blog post called Knees Vibrating By Room 1 in Ruapotaka School, and we saw a nice comment from Room 3 in Ruapotaka school. So what we did is to identify if the comment was a positive comment, what we had to identify in the comment was if it had a, greeting, positive, helpful, thoughtful, make a connection, add more information, and a question. The comment had all the things they needed for a positive comment but didn’t add the make a connection or too add more information, but that doesn’t mean it still isn’t positive, and here is my post of identifing the comment and the comment itself.
How To Survive A Cow Attack
Today for Reading in LS1 we had to make a DLO on how to survive a cow. On my DLO I showed different ways to handle an angry cow like, what body language they show when mad, what to do when it notices you, what to do when it doesn’t notice you and what to do if its about to attack you. When I finished the info I added two pictures of very angry cows. Here is my DLO.
Helping Our Families With Our Blogs

Helpful tip, Start with a greeting.
Positive blog post replies
- Today for Cybersmar our cybersmart teacher Matua Peter showed LS1 this blog post from another school. In their blog they explained what they did, what they did is dress up for costume day and make a book cover. Their teachers dressed up as the blue and black crayons, they made the book cover very colourful. What we had to do is use a template our Cybersmart teacher, Matua Peter shared us this template of a fridge. What we had to do is pretend that we we’re replying to their blog using those magnets you use on a fridge or whiteboard, on the comment we had to start with a greeting, say what we loved and ask some questions. Here is my fridge.
